Our firm has always believed that the arts should be celebrated.

This belief stems from the Permuy family’s proud and unique legacy in supporting the arts. Firm Principal Jesús Permuy co-founded the renown Permuy Gallery in Coral Gables which helped launch Miami’s Cuban fine art scene as an essential cultural hub in South Florida. The gallery was historic as one of the first Cuban art galleries in South Florida and the United States. Its celebrated “Friday Gallery Nights,” long-running salon discussions, group and solo exhibitions, and other popular events had helped revitalize Cuban art in America and featured the talent of several leading and emerging artists.

The success of the gallery motivated the Permuy family to do more to support the greater Miami area culturally in the following decades. Scholars and community leaders alike have noted the family’s impact on the arts and the Permuys remain active as collectors, curators, and collaborators.

This relationship with the arts is evident in signature Permuy designs, informing and refining our approach to architecture. The Permuy Architecture team continues to work with international artists on projects. Additionally, the firm carries an ongoing tradition of hosting an annual art exhibition, titled “Art + Architecture,” at the end of each year to celebrate the year’s successes and spotlight local artistic talent.
